Hi Friends,
Today make the start of a 40 day journey to Easter. 40 days is significant because it is 1/10 of our year (our days) and the same amount of time Jesus spent in the desert after being baptized by John the Baptist. During these 40 days, we are asked to think about what is means to be ourselves this side of heaven. Who are we really? What are we becoming? What are we failing to become? The Lenten journey is meant to be reflective time of honestly and growth. Easter is coming! I love this prayer by William Arthur Ward.
Fast from fear: Feast on faith.
Fast from despair; Feast on hope.
